The idea behind this house was to create an environment conducive to the lifestyle Los Angeles offers: abundant natural light, a connection to nature, enchanting city views, and tranquility.

The site overlooks the Elysian Valley, with the Hollywood Hills on the horizon. These views are framed by beams that appear to float over the valley—arguably the heart of Los Angeles, as it is the city's birthplace. Beneath these beams, the interior is enclosed in a transparent shell. Outside, the beams extend in both directions—toward the expansive views and back into the hillside—forming a peaceful garden at the rear. It’s in this garden that one feels most at home, in a sanctuary: looking out toward the city through the living room, yet sheltered from it; surrounded by flowers, hummingbirds, and the soothing sound of a fountain.
